On Monday, November 18th, Donna Melcher will be speaking to us about the Citizen's Climate Lobby. The Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.
Here is a little biographical information about Donna. She served as Executive Program Manager for International Business Machines (IBM) for thirty years. She had responsibility for large global outsourcing implementations at Fortune 100 companies and complex projects such as the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. This career took her all over the world, with long term assignments in India and Australia.
She is also a community minister with the Center for Sacred Studies whose mission is to protect and support indigenous ways of living. She recently helped organize 4 years of musical concerts and Native American elders meetings held in the Black Hills of South Dakota to raise voices for the return of this land back to the Great Sioux Nation.
Now retired, Donna has turned her focus to her third chapter. She has one son and daughter in law who live in Dunwoody. Her interest is in our environment and she wants to know she's done her part for a livable world for everyone else's grandchildren and all the ones to come for the next seven generations. She is a volunteer with Citizens Climate Lobby and will be speaking specifically about what we can do to address our changing environment. In her spare time she likes to dance, sing and make art and music for fun!
Please come out visit the Sandy Springs Rotary Club and give Donna a warm Rotarian welcome.
