In 2015, the Rotary Club of Vinings Cumberland embarked upon the latest in a series of Global Grants to improve health conditions for mothers and infants in rural Kenya. The latest is focused on the Elgeyo Marakwet region and seeks to assist 2500 mothers and their children. Efforts were supported by several District 6900 clubs and we partnered with the Eldoret Uasin Gishu Rotary Club in Kenya. The work is now drawing to a close and our on the ground project manager, Jennifer Grimm, will be in Vinings on October 25 to report on the project activities. She is also a Rotarian, previously in Allen, Texas and now in Kilifi, Kenya. All are welcome to join in this presentation. Come and hear about the cell phone technology development, health worker training, community participation, and the impacts on maternal and child health.

Please contact Wally Horlacher to confirm participation and location. (cell 804.536.7141, email wallyh3@comcast.net).
