Safe Medication and Sharps Disposal Available at Two Sandy Springs Fire Stations

Drop off prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, and sealed sharps containers Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

That bottle of expired pills in the back of your medicine cabinet has somewhere safe to go. Together with the City of Sandy Springs, our club helped bring secure, no-cost disposal of unused medications and sharps to two local fire stations.

What you can drop off (safely and confidentially):

  • Prescriptions
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Sealed sharps containers

Why it matters: unused medications left at home are a risk to children and a leading source of accidental poisoning, and loose needles put our sanitation workers and first responders in harm's way. Flushing them sends the same problem into the Chattahoochee.

Drop-off locations and hours

  • Fire Station No. 1 — 1425 Spalding Drive
  • Fire Station No. 3 — 6025 Raider Drive

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Clean out the cabinet this weekend. It takes five minutes and it protects our families, our first responders, and our environment.

Thank you to the City of Sandy Springs and Sandy Springs Fire Rescue for partnering with us on this.
