Medical Equipment Recycling

The club maintains a enclosed trailer at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center for donations of durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers etc.). When full we haul it to FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children) in Stone Mountain. This non profit, refurbishes the items and sells them at minimal cost to those in need. This is an ongoing project of the club which began about 5 years ago. This year we grew the program by bringing the trailer around to local senior living communities to pick up the items. So far this year we have made several deliveries to FODAC. On April 24 at Leadership Sandy Springs Recycle event at City Springs SS Rotary members and the trailer will be there as volunteers. This is sustainable valuable service project for the community.
