Rotary International is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs meets most Mondays at the Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Suites at 12:15 PM. The lunch program includes club business and also hosts guest speakers - business professionals, elected officials, non-profit leaders and others from the Sandy Springs area.
We’re always looking for ways to make an impact in the community; our club members are actively engaged with senior and youth programs that support leadership development and student scholarship. While our motto and most important feature of Rotary International is “Service Above Self,” we also work together in fellowship as we enjoy great camaraderie. Like us on Facebook Sandy Springs' Facebook Page to keep up to date on our club's activities!
I hope you will enjoy our weekly newsletter and I invite you to join us for lunch soon!

Here is an excerpt from his website: " Ken is a native of Marietta, Georgia, and holds degrees from Georgia Tech and Georgia State. He has been
blessed to have many interests and the time to pursue them. Ken has been recognized as the U. S. Rotarian
who contributed the most to the eradication of polio during the period 1992 to 1995. He has served on the
City of Marietta's Board of Education and rewrote Georgia's "No pass; no play" statute. He served as chair of
his county's art museum during its finest hours.
As an athlete, he held the SEC freshman record for the javelin throw, was a founder of The Atlanta Track
Club and was national chairman and national champion in masters track & field.
Ken has written a book, "Messages in Handlebars", about the youngest French resistance fighter to receive
the Croix de Guerre, Jean-Jacques Auduc, which Claire has translated into French with many copies being
sold. Ken has presented his book to many clubs and organizations. The British Ambassador to France is an
endorser of this book. Ken is now writing a book of historical fiction about an American reporter in Paris
during and in the years following World War I." Pictured below is Ken Kirk with his wife, Claire.

The 2016 Public Service Dinners have been scheduled for October 25th, 26th and 27th. Rotarians, family, friends attend the dinners which are catered by community-service oriented restaurants and caterers.
