12-4-2017 U.S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk
On December 4, 2017, U.S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk will speak to the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs. According to his website, "Congressman Barry Loudermilk, a Constitutional Conservative, represents Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, which includes all of Bartow and Cherokee counties as well as portions of Cobb and Fulton counties.
In the 115th Congress, Rep. Loudermilk serves as a member of three important U.S. House Committees: Financial Services, House Administration, and Space, Science and Technology. Barry also serves on the steering committee for the Republican Study Committee (RSC), conservative caucus of the House Republicans.
Before being elected to Congress in 2014, Barry Loudermilk was a small business owner for over 20 years. He also served in the Georgia State House and Senate for over 9 years.
A Georgia native, Rep. Loudermilk holds an Associate Degree in Telecommunications Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education and Information Systems Technology. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years.
Loudermilk is the former owner of an Information Technology services business, and is an author, historian, and motivational speaker.
Barry and his wife Desiree have been married since 1983. They reside in northwest Georgia, and have three grown children and two grandchildren"

11-20-2017 Michael Parks on Rotary Youth Exchange Joined by RYE 2017-18 Student Louis Galli
On November 20, 2017, Michael Parks, Rotary Youth Exchange proponent, and the 2017-18 RYE student Louis Galli, spoke to the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs. Parks was a RYE student over 45 years ago and he stated that the experience had a great impact on his life. Thousands of student participate worldwide each year, and District 6900 has its first students this year. Louis attends Riverwood High School. More photos at RYE Program Photos

Rotary wins prestigious Silver Telly for AIDS documentary
A documentary film produced by Rotary's broadcast media department that features Rotary member Marion Bunch and her work to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in underprivileged African communities won two 2015 Telly Awards.
The prestigious awards are given annually to the finest film and video productions. Rotary's documentary, "Rotary Family Health Days" received a Silver Telly, the highest honor, in the online video-documentary category, and a Bronze Telly in the online video-branded content and entertainment category. The documentary was shown by the South African Broadcasting Corporation and throughout Africa.
